Mrs. Payne

While I grew up in a small rural area in Northern New York as the youngest of seven siblings, I attended a k-12 school that was right across the street from our home. I earned both my bachelors and masters degrees in education at Oswego, N.Y. where I lived right on Lake Ontario. I later lived in Southeast Alaska for about two years teaching pre-schoolers and directing a child care center with an enrollment upwards of sixty children.

This year I am working as a Title I / RTI-II teacher at TGS. Over the past 26 years I've worked in special education, Title-I, PE, and as a 3rd grade teacher all within our district. I've worked at St. George (K-8), Thomaston Grammar (both when it was 5-8th grade and now as a K-5), Cushing Community (K-5) and South School (K-5).

My husband, Jay, and I live in Thomaston with our two dogs.

I encourage you to have your children read to you every day for at least 15 minutes and for you to read to them as well. Any activity you do with your children can be a learning opportunity. I hope you enjoy your time together.
