Mr. Brown likes math but, then again, who doesn’t? There’s plenty more to Mr. Brown than polynomials and factoring and whatnot. When he takes his nose off the grindstone he enjoys reading, juggling, cheeseburgers, a good game of chess, and writing about himself in the third person. He is a stand-up comedian and has performed in clubs across North Carolina and beyond, having opened shows for touring headliners and celebrities such as Mark Klein, Johnny Millwater and, from The Daily Show, John Oliver.
Having been an educator for more than 25 years, he has been fortunate to teach hundreds of brilliant and hard-working students seeking to master advanced mathematics. Former pupils have matriculated and excelled in dozens of competitive collegiate settings and are now achieving in their chosen fields, including engineering, dentistry, education, business, law, ministry, and medicine.
Mr. Brown and his wife, Amy, have four children – Mary Margaret, Alex, Anne Clare, and Molly. He also enjoys the companionship of a certain cocker spaniel, Millie, who is currently serving her sentence as the family pet.
