Seattle Arts & Lectures’ Writers in the Schools (WITS) program places professional local writers in public elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, empowering young people to discover and develop their authentic writing and performance voices. Since 1994, the program has served over 100,000 students throughout the Puget Sound region. Through WITS, students become authors of their own lives.

Ramon Isao is a writer, educator, and actor who loved his time working with the Chief Sealth crew! He helped student filmmakers with research and script-writing, and how to take a bunch of things you want to say and make a story out of them. He has a big haircut, and a car. He's won some awards and he one won a TV at a county fair. His stories and movies are all over. He's really bad at writing bios about himself.
Shann is a freelance filmmaker, photographer and teaching artist. Shann's favorite thing about working with students @ Cheif Sealth was the student's bravery in doing something new and creative; and their unbelievable patience in working with lackluster technology. Shann is teaching filmmaking at Northwest Film Forum this Summer, and will also be producing a photo installation at the Vera Project on Transgender History in the Northwest.
