Jazz Band

This class offers a fun and relaxed atmosphere to push students to their limits of creativity and dedication.  Students will play more independently with a sense of musicianship to their art.  Every member is a potential soloist and every member has a responsibility to the greater needs of the band as a whole.

Students must be concurrently enrolled in Advanced Band* where they will cover the traditional band curriculum.  Jazz Band is a specialized enrichment elective that builds on those traditional skills.

* The bass player may alternately be enrolled in Advanced Orchestra if they have come through that program.
