Rockwood School District is actively supporting students during this time. School Counselors, Social Workers, and Social-Emotional Behavior Specialists are available to meet with students via Zoom or phone. Please reach out via phone or email to get connected. The Rockwood School District also partners with Wings on Wheels to provide additional support to students. Wings on Wheels is currently providing grief support groups at Eureka High School. You will also find many resources and grief activities below that may be helpful for your family.
Grief takes time. There is no expected timeline for grief, everyone is different.
Find healthy coping skills to actively cope with the grief. These can be done individually, with your family or within your community.
Seek support from family and friends. Consider joining a support group or talking with a grief counselor if you need additional support.
Try to maintain your routine. Continue to participate in activities that you enjoy.
Plan ahead for “grief triggers” such as birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. Find ways to honor the ones you have lost. Give yourself space to process any emotions you may be feeling.
Take care of you. Be sure to get plenty of rest, eat healthy, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself to do too much at once.
