Course Description:
Geometry provides an analysis of plane, solid, and coordinate geometry. Students explore both abstract mathematical concepts as well as real-world applications. Technological tools and manipulatives will be used to discover and explore more complex geometric situations and deepen students' understanding of geometric relationships as they move toward formal mathematical arguments.

Website: We will utilize Clever, AP Classroom, and Canvas to communicate within our class.
Course Evaluation:
Semester grades are based on a combination of all the work done. Summative Assessments make up 85% of their grade, Skill Evaluations make up 10%, while Homework makes up the remaining 5%. We may do additional projects relating to our studies.
Classroom Management Plan:
All students are expected to follow all guidelines described by the student handbook as well as those specified below for my classroom.
Arrive to class prepared and on time every day.
Respect yourself, others, and property.
Participate in class and do the assigned practice.
Other Important Things to Know:
1. Assigned practice should be completed before class begins. Practice will be checked daily for completion and periodically for accuracy.
2. Late homework is accepted within reason. It is to the student’s benefit to complete all assignments on time. No late homework will be accepted after the unit assessment.
3. Students are allowed to retake tests ONLY if their homework completion grade for the unit is 80% before the original test date. Students can then retake a test and earn the most recent grade. Retakes must be done before the next unit assessment.
4. If you are absent, utilize your Flex time to get caught up. Be proactive and an advocate for your education. It is your responsibility to turn in work due while you are absent. You are allowed one day per day absent to make up work.
5. Missed tests, quizzes, and daily assessments are to be made up during Flex Time. Tests/quizzes must be made up within 1 week of the original date given unless prior permission is granted. Tests/quizzes not completed in this time frame will be given a zero.
6. Come to class prepared. You will only leave the room with a pass.
7. Morning and afternoon help is available in the Math Lab. Math Lab hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays before and after school (7:20 – 8:20 am and 3:20 – 4:20 pm).
8. Grades will be posted via Infinite Campus. You may check them yourself by logging in under your own ID. I would encourage you to check your grade often and speak with me privately if you believe there is an issue.
I truly hope to see each one of you succeed in Geometry this semester. I will be expecting great things from you. Please use all the resources around you to help you to accomplish these great things. I will encourage you as students to work together, help one another, and ask questions. I will ask you to keep your parents/guardians involved in what you are doing. Keep in mind, I will do whatever I can to help you along the way, but you have to take the lead. Communicate with me about your progress. Ask for assistance. I am here to help. Just let me know what you need! Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and I look forward to a great school year!
