The Track & Field program offers training in the off-season led by members of the track & field coaching staff. For athletes not involved in a winter sport, we very much encourage participation in the off-season program. This year, we will start off-season training in December for Distance Runners and Jan 5 for Sprinters and Jumpers. Training is after school ranges from 2-3 days per week. We offer tailored training programs specific to each event area, i.e. Distance, Sprints, Throws, etc. These programs focus on progression in speed, agility, strength and endurance. We also introduce and work on track & field skills such as, hurdles, starting blocks, throwing technique, etc. The goal of off-season training is to help get athletes in the best possible shape to be prepared to be the best they can be in the upcoming season. See Coach Haxton in room 237 for more details.
