What is National Honor Society?
More than an honor roll, NHS is a national organization that serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. As such, NHS chapters and students care not only about student achievement, but also community engagement.
About Eureka High School NHS Chapter
Eureka High School’s Chapter of the National Honor Society helps members serve their community and practice their leadership skills. We are a service-focused organization. Recent projects have included partnering with the Eureka Food Pantry, Eureka Adopt-A-Family, & Children’s Hospital, hosting environmental clean-ups at local parks and streams, building a peer tutoring initiative, and many other opportunities. Members are encouraged to create their own opportunities for service as well!
Students earn service hours within their school and local community. They serve as peer tutors and leaders. They participate in membership meetings and have opportunities to present at the National LEAD conference and/or the State Missouri Association of National Honor Societies.
