First Grade

Welcome to First Grade! First grade is an exciting time as children embark on new adventures in learning. This is a year of important transitions and one where the acquisition of new skills is accelerated. First graders develop fundamental work habits, appropriate social behavior, problem solving and decision making skills, and academic skills.

My name is Tracy Barger and this will be my 26th year teaching at James Morris Elementary in grades K through 2. I am a resident of Morris with my husband and two daughters.
