Summer Reading

Dear Families,

We have provided you with a list of books and activities by theme for each week of the summer. The books and associated activities are suggestions, however there are many others! Be creative and visit your local libraries for other books connected to the weekly themes.

Directions:

1. Go on a reading adventure with RSD17’s suggested books and activities.

2. Record the title of each book you read on The Summer Reading Recording Sheet.

3. Draw a picture and write about your favorite Reading Adventure.

4. Bring your completed list of books the first week of school. Make sure your name AND your current teacher’s name are on it.

All summer learning materials including book lists, weekly themes and activities, and recording sheet are located on the RSD17 Summer Learning Website. Please look at grade level materials for the student’s grade in 2025-2026.

~Students will receive certificates for participating in summer learning and their responses will be displayed on a community bulletin board.~
