Student Expectations
· Attendance is mandatory at all performance and dress rehearsals. The performances are final assessments – equivalent to an exam in a traditional class.
· Students are to report to the music room for warm up and attendance 45-minutes prior to performance time unless directed otherwise by their conductor.
· Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Chamber Choir will wear the uniform concert attire (black suit or dress) purchased through the CRHS Music Department for all performances
· Jazz Band and Show Choir will wear attire as outlined by the directors for each school performance. Both ensembles will wear jeans and t-shirts for the Durham Fair performances. (t-shirts are provided by CRHS POPS)
· Marching Band will wear CRHS Marching Band Uniforms (distributed in the Spring)
Concert Etiquette
The goal of the CRHS Music Department is to create an atmosphere and environment that mirrors a professional performance. It is important that performers and audience members alike understand and demonstrate appropriate concert decorum. The following guidelines should be adhered to at all RSD13 music performances.
· All cellphones and other electronic devices should be turned off or set to silent/airplane mode.
· Tablets, laptops, and other devices with glowing screens can be distracting to performers and audience members and are prohibited.
· All children must remain in their seats during the performance. If any younger ones need a break, please take them out to the lobby to allow others to enjoy the performance in silence.
· The auditorium doors will remain closed during performances. You may only enter or exit in between selections or during applause, unless of course in the event of an emergency.
