The Student Council's mission is to enhance school spirit and foster a positive atmosphere at Reedsburg Area High School, while providing leadership opportunities for members. Two of its main responsibilities are organizing Homecoming Week and Winter Carnival Week, but there are many other events and activities led by the council throughout the school year. The council meets weekly on Wednesdays to make decisions and plan these events.
Student Council is student-led, with an executive board of officers elected by the general membership of the council. Membership in the council itself is open and there are no monetary dues--just contact Mrs. Strutz and start attending meetings. Members gain leadership skills and learn how to work as a team through organizing and running various events. RAHS Student Council members also attend conferences in the fall and the spring. These conferences are sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of School Councils, include the state conference and competitions each spring. Great attendance and participation are a must in order to be able to attend these conferences.
