The School Counseling Program includes classroom presentations and counseling opportunities.
Classroom Presentations
I will be presenting SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) lessons with all classrooms once every 6 day rotation, for the second year in a row. I will be using the Second Step SEL curriculum. This curriculum is split into the 4 units of skills for learning, empathy, emotion management, and problem solving. Students and staff seemed to really enjoy the new curriculum last year and having more time in the classrooms. Please ask your students about what they are learning with me and the fun activities we do! In addition, I am attaching the scope and sequence of each grade level below so families can follow along with our class lessons.

Counseling Opportunities
Individual counseling on a short-term basis and small group counseling are both available. Individual referrals may come from a teacher, parent, or a student for individual counseling. Small groups will look a bit different this year, and will also be through parent, staff, and even student discipline referrals. You may reach me at either of the schools listed below with any comments, questions or concerns. EMAIL IS THE PREFERRED WAY to contact me at kmonte@rsd.k12.wi.us. I am looking forward to another amazing school year!
