Counselor Corner

Welcome to our counselor corner! 

I'm Madison Homer, the school counselor here at Shining Stars. With our social-emotional curriculum students will learn and grow in their own feelings and recognize them in others. Students will learn about the Zones of Regulation and how to identify emotions. They will learn how to utilize a variety of calming strategies through the use of the Zones of Regulation. The students will use the CharacterStrong Curriculum to help develop social-emotional awareness and needs with our words of the month.

Each month I will be providing information on the word of the month, social-emotional learning, and community resources! Feel free to contact me whenever and if ever you need to. You may also see me outside doing crosswalk duty in the PM by our desert pod, feel free to stop and say hi. I look forward to working with all of our stars this year!
