Child Find Screenings are held once a month on Saturdays.
Prior to the appointment being scheduled the parent/guardian will be asked to electronically answer what your child can and cannot do.
Initial screenings require about 45 minutes of your and your child’s time.
Your child will be screened in the following areas: Speech, Language, Fine & Gross Motor Skills, Self Help Skills, Social/Emotional Skills
Following your child’s screening, you will receive an email with the outcome of the screening and recommendations. This may include further evaluation(s) or referrals to other community services.
There can be some confusion about the difference between screening and assessment in early childhood settings.
Screenings can...
identify children who are developing on schedule.
identify children who would benefit from practice or support in specific areas.
identify children at risk for developmental delays who should be referred for further evaluation.
Screenings cannot...
diagnose delays or disabilities.
identify specific child goals to target. Screening only provides information on general areas of development.
