6th Grade Locker Clean Out
For all staff who have students who checked out a locker, please make sure all items are cleared this week and that all trash is disposed of properly.
Moths Yes, we are aware of the influx of moths. District has been notified and they are seeking to help remedy the problem. Apparently some 6th graders like the taste of the moths, so we might have an in-house solution. :-)
Dress Code Issues-
As was mentioned last week, we ask for families to assure that their students are wearing dress code appropriate clothing to school. As the temperature rises we are starting to see attire that is not assuring proper coverage of students. Please refer to the district dress code included in our student handbook on our website. The most prevalent infractions as outlined in the dress code policy are as follows:
*Revealing clothing or see-through clothing
* Saggy pants revealing underwear or any portion of the body below the naval.
*Dresses, skirts, shorts, including slits, should not be above mid-thigh.
* Pants exposing skin above mid-thigh
*Visible cleavage, navels, and/or midriffs. No skin should be shown between the bottom of the shirt/blouse and the top of the pants/skirt when arms are stretched upward
*Tube tops, bare shoulders, spaghetti strap tops, halter tops, translucent blouses, midriff shirts/blouses
* Spandex is only allowed under approved shirts, shorts, skirts, and dresses
*Muscle shirts
Our students are at school to learn and we do not want that to be interrupted by consequence for dress code infractions. If your child wears a hoodie to school, please make sure they have appropriate clothing underneath. Thank you!
RRMS Highlights-Week of May 8th, 2023
Students in Exploring Computers (6th grade) wrapped up their Restaurant Unit. This week they calculated their earnings, created a newsletter, a menu, a survey, and an advertisement using Google Apps. Students in Computer Concepts continued with their “Dream Team” Sports Marketing unit , using Spreadsheet software to analyze ticket sales, and they created a Merchandise inventory. They also used desktop publishing software to design a cell phone case and an admission ticket. Great job everyone!
Consumer Science classes completed their final exam cooking lab on Tuesday. They made pizza, a dessert and a beverage without any help from the teacher. We have one last unit before the final on May 24 and 25.
