2023/2024 Physical Submission and Clearance Instructions

PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BEFORE SUBMITTING

Welcome and thank you for your interest in Rio Rancho Public Schools Athletics! Rio Rancho Public Schools value the important role that athletics plays in contributing to the overall high school experience. RRPS is pleased to announce the launch of our brand new Athletic Physical Packet submission site. Physical packets will now be submitted by visiting the Athletics Document Upload link below and should no longer be emailed in.

Medical History and Physical Examination forms should remain with the parent/guardian and/or health care provider unless the parent/guardian provides written authorization to release the forms to the school. 


So, the following are required from our student-athletes prior to participation:

Required Items for Physical Packet

Before a student is allowed to participate in any RRPS Summer or In-Season Athletics, each student will need to have all paperwork turned in to the appropriate school's athletic office, and be cleared for participation by your school's Athletic Coordinator.  Please read through the requirements below carefully as some requirements as well as the method of submission have changed.

1. NMAA Physical Packet  Physical Exam must be conducted and the form must be dated on or after April 1, 2023. The forms are below, click on the box, then in the upper left corner click the open in new window button to print. 

 2. NFHS Student Concussion Course sign up for an account, add the student concussion course to your basket (the course is free), and complete the course. Please be sure when creating the account that it is in the student's name so the certificate will be generated with the correct name.  Also, be sure that the course is the CONCUSSION FOR STUDENTS COURSE.  Any other course will not meet the state law requirement.  At the end of the course, you will be issued a certificate of completion.  This certificate will need to be downloaded and emailed in with your other documents.   Must be dated on or after April 1, 2021.   Click this site to get your free course:  https://nfhslearn.com/courses/concussion-for-students

3. Copy of the front and back of your health insurance card  (click HERE if you do not have health insurance and need to purchase the school-offered health insurance)
