JOIN THE “RAMS” & “STORM” TO FIGHT BREAST CANCER!!
The Rio Rancho & Cleveland volleyball teams will again collaborate to convert a regular season match into a Breast Cancer awareness event. Mark your calendars to support the ANNUAL “FIGHT ON”, (formerly “Dig Pink”) volleyball match on November 6th at RRHS! C-team 4:00 pm, JV at 5:00, and Varsity @ 6:30 pm.
The 1st ANNUAL “VOLLEYBALL FOR THE CURE” in 2001, was created as a way to honor and celebrate the heroic fights against breast cancer! This event is dedicated to all men and women who have been touched by breast cancer with the hope that this devastating disease will one day be cured.
With approval from the New Mexico Activities Association, players, coaches and referees will wear custom pink shirts & uniforms during the volleyball match! Over 500 t-shirts will be sold to the public for $12-$20 each, and all fans are encouraged to wear “pink” for the match!! Funds will also be raised through donation buckets, sponsorships, and raffle items, as well a link to The Side-Out Foundation.
An online fundraising campaign to benefit The Side-Out Foundation (a VB non-profit organization) will also be set up to raise funds for Stage 4 Breast Cancer clinical trials and research.
The event will be publicized with the help of local media, school announcements, signs, banners, and emails. RRHS & CHS will buzz with pink on game day as the players, students and staff will wear pink!
Attendance will be fun, as we expect 500-1000 fans this year! Last year, over $4,000 was raised for breast cancer research, and for community members fighting this fight!! Over $30,600.00 has been donated to the Side-Out Foundation during our partnership with them! We are proud of our efforts, so please join us!!
Please join the Rio Rancho community as we do our part to raise awareness about breast cancer and raise money to “FIGHT THE FIGHT!” These two teams define the true meaning of being a champion in every way!
