How do I transfer to Independence?

Independence High School only takes students in 11th or 12th grade who are behind in credits and referred from either Cleveland High School or Rio Rancho High School. 

We only take 11th and 12th grades students who are behind in credits and they should be at least 16 years old and have at least 6 credits.

The first step is to speak with your student's counselor about possible placement at Independence. There is a waiting list on which the counselors prioritize students.

If your student was referred to Independence, and you have not completed the online registration process this must be completed before the transfer can take place.  We will need your birth certificate, proof of residence, updated immunizations, guardianship paperwork, other legal documentation, etc.  

There is an opportunity to upload while completing the registration, if there is an issue, you may also use this link, copy and paste into your browser.  Also, paperwork can be brought in to be scanned to your students files.
