Elizabeth Lind
I grew up Newton, Kansas and graduated from a small Liberal Arts school named Bethel College in 2017. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Bassoon Performance with an Education License. I started teaching elementary music in Wichita, KS in 2017 and moved to Albuquerque in 2019 so my husband could pursue a Masters of Music Performance and Music Theory at UNM. I have been teaching music at Puesta Del Sol ever since! I teach elementary music because I love creating joyful musical experiences for the students. I find ways to connect what is concrete in a student’s world to abstract musical concepts. The lightbulb moment when a student independently reads notated music is what fuels my passion. I took Orff Level I and Kodaly Level I in the summer of 2018. I became a fully Kodaly certified teacher the summer 2021. In my classroom students can be found singing folk songs, playing games connected to the songs, practicing folk dances, accompanying songs on instruments, and learning social skills through musical activities. In my spare time I enjoy board games, bike rides, running, yoga, and trying new recipes. I also loves playing with my corgi, Clara, who is named after the female composer, Clara Schumann.
