Welcome to our Classroom Community!! I am honored to have the opportunity to partner with you in your child’s educational journey. I have worked with children and families in different capacities for over thirty-six years. This is my seventh year teaching. I possess a Masters Degree in Education and a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. I am passionate about teaching and working with families and enjoy my job immensely.
Snack: Please send your child with a daily snack except for Wednesdays (apples, granola bar, crackers, veggies, etc…). 2nd Grade will be eating early lunch at 11:05am. We will have an afternoon snack at recess. Please limit candy or sugar snacks. I will provide snack for students, if parents are willing to donate bulk items of Goldfish, Cheezits, Pretzels etc…
Folder: Your child will bring home a folder every day marked “Communication”. Inside this folder you will find student work from the day or notes to go home. There is also a pocket that is labeled “Return to School.” This will be for lunch money, notes/questions you have for me, and field trip notes and behavior reports we need signed and returned.
Email email@example.com: This is the best and quickest way to communicate with me. I send out weekly information and updates of events usually on Fridays. Please take the time to read these emails. I will send an email home the first week of school for you to acknowledge and give permission to discuss your child via email. I will need for you to respond in order to discuss your child via email. I will send more information next week.
Class Website: You may visit our classroom website (more information coming soon) to view calendars, schedules, things happening in our class and other information.
Telephone 505-338-2526 ext. 132: You are welcome to call me at anytime. If I miss your call, I will return it as soon as possible. If there is an emergency, please contact the front office.
Related Arts/Specials: Specials consist of P.E., Art, Library, Computer Lab, STEAM Lab, and Music. Your child will have a special everyday of the week except for Wednesdays. These specials rotate on a daily basis, so please make sure your child is wearing appropriate shoes (tennis shoes) on for P.E. A rotation calendar has been provided.
First Week of School/Nightly Reading: Our first week of school will focus mainly on establishing routines, class and community norms and introducing the curriculum. Beginning in September, your child will have a nightly reading log (more information on that soon).
Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to a fun and exciting year!!
