"You are enough, just as you are." Megan Markle

Week TWO

Happy Monday! Last week we had our first full week with a normal Wednesday and we SURVIVED!!! In all seriousness the kids grew so much from Monday to Friday. They are continuing to step up to meet my expectations and pushing through the hard times. We have been focusing on their mindset. They are not allowed to say, " I can't", but that we will try and might fail but we will continue learning from each mistake to build a strong foundation. In one week we learned to skip count by 2, 3, 5, 10 and relate that to multiplication. We have also learned how to make equal groups and rows and represent those with repeated addition and multiplication equations. The kids also worked on addition with regrouping, telling time, counting money and identifying values on numbers based on place value. In reading we have been learning about the Fiction text, Wind in the Willows. They have learned about characters and their actions, comparting and contrasting characters, sequencing events and a major focus on vocabulary. They have also been doing partner reading, learning to answer questions and finding the answers in the text by highlighting. During our science lesson we focused on engineering.

This week we will continue reading Wind in the Willows, and will introduce the story of Aladdin. In math we will be working on multiplication and division through equal groups using concreate tools (manipulatives). We will begin writing a personal narrative using settings, feelings, events, and dialogue.
