Meet state-mandated testing requirements
Monitor your credits: Review your PEP with your credentialing teacher and meet with your counselor for a senior credit check to make sure you are on track and know what you need to graduate.
Credit recovery: If you need to earn extra credits to graduate on time, consider adding an F block or zero hour class, take summer school classes, take a dual enrollment course, or earn elective credits by turning in work hours.
Next Step Plan: Tell your counselor what you want to do after high school. If you don't know yet, ask for guidance to help you figure it out. Complete your Next Step Plan on Naviance.
College Applications: If you plan to go to college, decide where you want to apply and start working on those applications.
College Admissions Tests: Find out if you need to take an entrance exam for the college to which you are applying. Most universities require you to take the ACT or SAT. CNM requires you to take the Accuplacer.
Financial Aid: If you plan to go to college, you need to complete the FAFSA for financial aid. You can start the FAFSA on or after October 1st by going to the website at FAFSA.gov. (Make sure you go to the .gov site and remember, there is no cost for filling out this application. If you are prompted to pay a fee, you are at the wrong site!
ASVAB and the Military: If you plan to join the military, you may take the ASVAB test at IHS in September or at any military recruiting office. If you would like to meet with any military recruiters when they visit IHS, let your counselor know.
