Who IS Mrs. Seiler?
I am Mrs. Seiler and I earned my BA in Humanities with an emphasis in German Literature at the University of Utah (Go UTES!) and earned dual Master’s degrees at New Mexico State University (Go Aggies!) in Educational Curriculum and Instruction as well as in Educational Management and Development.
I have been a teacher for TWENTY-ONE years teaching numerous subjects - all levels of English / Language Arts, German, and Student Leadership. I tend to focus on the “digital native”, highlighting technological practices in my pedagogy. I am a Fulbright Scholar, New Mexico Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction, and an NASC Award of Distinction winner. I have done extensive research on enhancing student achievement through technology and published articles and curriculum for the NM Online Education program. I have earned over $10,000 in grant money to further research on technology and the impact on student achievement.
Currently, I am an AP Literature and Composition teacher at V. Sue Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho growing and pushing the program toward success. I am also a mentor for the Master Teaching Program for the State of New Mexico and for the Rio Rancho Public Schools.
My educational mantra is “Scientia est Libertas” - Knowledge is Freedom.
I believe wholeheartedly in curricular innovation through technology and am driven to bridge the learning gap for the digitally native student.
In my spare time I love to be outdoors – rafting, snowmobiling, gardening, coaching little league basketball, singing and blogging on my computer but most especially enjoying time with my family in particular my husband, my 8- year old nephew, Brady, cutie pie, 7-year old niece, Ali and 3-year old little ball of energy Noah.
