About:
RASS is a recurring summer school and internship program to be held at Raman Research Institute, one of the premier research institutes in India. It is a fully funded 2-week workshop intermingled with an 8-week research internship program intended for undergraduate students. The program is designed to engage bright and motivated undergraduate and master’s students in research in astronomy and astrophysics. The school will offer two key components: a series of introductory lectures by experts, aimed at providing students with a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts in the field, and a research project to give them an experience with astronomy-related research.
Eligibility: Students who have completed (or will complete) at least 2 years (4 semesters) of their bachelors program (BTech/BE/BS/BSc) by May 2025, and have not yet started their MS/MSc/Mtech thesis work. Students in their first year of MS/MSc/MTech are eligible to apply. The school is only open for Indian citizens or a valid OCI card holders.
Travel and accommodation: RRI will provide an equivalent of 3AC travel allowance from your institute/home to Bangalore on submission of the tickets. RRI will also arrange for local boarding and lodging in Bangalore for the entire duration of the school.
