(First Mates/Star Students are pre-selected by the teacher). 

Each student will have an opportunity to be the  First Mate (Star Student) in our classroom. The student will be the Star for the entire school week. Throughout the week, the student will be the classroom helper - Calendar Helper, Paper Passer, Line Leader, and Messenger. There is something special planned for each day. Monday- the student shares their poster; Tuesday- the student brings in their favorite book for the teacher to read; Wednesday- Star's parents send in a letter, poem, pictures, or DVD of their child, Thursday- (three special items are brought in by the student), and Friday- the student receives their certificate.
