In each section of this page you will find important information, please check the site reguarly to stay up to date with any changes.  

Book Club

Book Club engages students in diverse reading styles, strengthens critical thinking skills, and fosters a love for literacy through new, interactive approaches. Participants will read and discuss books specially selected from the KIS Library.

Details:

• When: Starting on September 28th.  Every other Monday | 2:45 PM – 3:15 PM

• Location: KIS Library

• Transportation: Please note that after-school transportation is not provided. Students will need a pre-arranged ride or signed permission to walk home.  Students will need to be picked up at 3:15 at the gym doors.

Maker Space Club!  

Join the KIS Maker Space Club!

Student’s can spark their creativity with hands-on projects ranging from coding to building! The Maker Space Club meets every other week from 2:45 PM to 3:25 PM, beginning the week of October 5th. Check the attached schedule for your student’s specific grade-level days.

Welcome to K-Kids Club!  

K-KIDS Club will meet every other Wednesday from 2:45 PM to 3:15 PM.

Throughout the year, members will partner with local non-profit organizations to complete meaningful community service projects. A few planned activities include, fall food drive, toys for tots drive, creating holiday dinner placemats, therapy dog night and collecting donations for the Berea ARF animal shelter, and making Valentine’s Day cards for nursing home residents, just to name a few.

Welcome to Readers Theater Club!  

Reader’s Theatre is an exciting, after-school club where students bring stories to life! Unlike traditional theater, students read directly from scripts without needing to memorize lines, wear costumes, or manage props and sets. Performers simply stand before the audience and read with dramatic expression. Beyond being fun, Reader’s Theatre builds word recognition, reading fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and confidence.

Club Details:

• When: Thursdays, 2:45 PM – 3:15 PM (Starting October 8)

• Transportation: No after-school transportation is available. Students must be picked up or have written permission to walk home promptly at 3:15 PM.

• Family Performances: Mark your calendars! Students will perform for families on December 17 and April 29.
