Military Options

Serving in the military can provide students with job training, money to pay for college, and sometimes a life-long career.  If you are interested in the military, the first step is learning about the different branches of the military, and then finding out if you meet their entrance criteria.  Use the Today's Military link to explore! 

Once you have done some online research, talk with your family about the next step.  You can visit with one of the military reps that come to our school, or schedule a visit with a recruiter.  

The National Guard is a unique element of the U.S. military that serves both community and country. The Guard responds to domestic emergencies, overseas combat missions, counterdrug efforts, reconstruction missions and more. Any state governor or the President of the United States can call on the Guard in a moment’s notice. Guard Soldiers hold civilian jobs or attend college while maintaining their military training part time. Guard Soldiers’ primary area of operation is their home state. 

The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is a college program offered at more than 1,700 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military.


In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, participants, or cadets, commit to serve in the Military after graduation. Each Service branch has its own take on ROTC.

The military offers unique educational opportunities for students who plan to pursue a college degree. 

These service academies, senior military colleges and maritime academies offer world-class education and a deeper understanding of military culture. In addition, these schools grant full tuition in exchange for a period of service commitment.
