Mrs. Butler was born, raised, and continues to reside in Woodworth, Louisiana. Her immediate family includes her husband of eight years, Brandon Butler, who also was raised in Woodworth and owns a business in our town, Cypress Big Tex, and her four-year-old son, Brody, who is excited to be a first-time Grizzly in Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Robyn's pre-k class this year.
Mrs. Butler attended Horseshoe Elementary, Lincoln Road Sixth Grade Center, and Brame Junior High, and she graduated from Alexandria Senior High in 2000. She majored in Secondary English Education at Louisiana Tech University, and returned home to teach in 2004. She taught at Alexandria Senior High for nine years and Tioga High School for two years before moving to Caroline Dormon in 2015 to teach eighth grade English Language Arts. She has taught a wide range of English courses before her transition to eighth grade English, including Mechanics of English, English I, English II, English III, English IV, Senior Applications, Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, and Creative Writing. She is very honored to serve her hometown at the number one school in Rapides Parish, Caroline Dormon Junior High.
Her accolades include Teacher of the Year for Alexandria Senior High, Tioga High School, and Caroline Dormon Junior High; Kiwanis Teacher of the Year; Louisiana High School Teacher of the Year Finalist; and Louisiana High School Middle School Teacher of the Year Finalist.
Mrs. Butler strives to involve community stakeholders in our school and continues to learn and implement learning strategies that enable students to meet their full potential.
