Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a Reading program we use to monitor and grow our students' comprehension levels.  Their growth is evaluated every ( 9 weeks). Each grading period, point goals are set for each student. Our school wide goal is to reach those point goals with 85% or more accuracy.   Those reaching their goals are allowed to attend an AR party planned by their ELA teacher. The library also holds a special party each 9 weeks for the top 5 students in each grade level. We hold a variety of Reading competitions throughout the year to motivate students.  At the end of the year, students with 100 or more points with at least 85% accuracy will be recognized at our awards ceremony. The top boy and girl reader in our school will also be awarded a new bicycle.  We work hard to make reading a priority while making it fun and motivating for our students.
