At Alexandria Middle Magnet, we pride ourselves on helping our students reach their full potential.
We offer four programs for students to choose:
Law, Robotics, Visual and Performing Arts and Digital Media.
Our students are able to participate in their studies with a court room experience. Community leaders come in to teach our students about law. Our law program is taught by a professional lawyer who has 15+ years of experience in the field. Students have taken field trips to the state capital, state supreme court, local court and countless other landmarks that give them a well rounded view of law.
Students design, create, analyze, and use embodied computational systems that interact with the physical and human environment. They study robotics, computer science, mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence, computer vision, electrical engineering, control systems, human-robot/computer interaction, and biomedical engineering. Our students learn from these fields and apply that knowledge to build robots and related systems.
Visual and Performing Arts Magnet integrates the arts into the core subjects, develops problem solving skills, promotes imagination, teaches teamwork, encourages self-discipline and builds self-confidence and expression. In addition to the daily arts curriculum, VPA has two major musical productions each year. Our VPA program includes, visual arts, dance, musical theater, band and choir.
