The Arkansas Computer Science Initiative began with legislation ACT 187 that required all high schools to offer at least one Computer Science course beginning in the 2015-2016 school year. The initiative soon became a K-12 initiative, with content embedded standards for Grades K-8 and a Coding Block for Middle School students. Implementation of the K-8 embedded standards and the MS Coding Block is to begin during the 2017-2018 school year.
