Parents, Guardians and Students,
During our Distance Learning experiences, the Rockford Public Schools (RPS) SCOC remains in effect in guiding our students and parents in appropriate and acceptable conduct.
All behaviors and acts considered to be a violation of the law are subject to referral to our local law enforcement, reported to The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), and receive an appropriate disciplinary response aligned to the RPS SCOC.
This includes the display or execution of acts during distance learning involving ;
Weapons
Fighting
Smoking
Harassment and/or Discriminatory Conduct
Threats and/or Bullying
Parent and guardians are expected to comply with Federal and State Law as it pertains to youth under their guardianship. All RPS staff are Mandated Reporters under the Law, and are required by Law to report any acts or misconduct considered to pose a threat to the safety and/or well-being of a stated minor to the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
