College Board: Applying to college is a complicated process, so College Board has created a program that guides you through it. This scholarship program is open to all students and it doesn't require an essay, application, or minimum GPA. Instead, it rewards your effort and initiative. Complete key steps along your path to college for a chance to earn scholarships.
Counselor Recommendation: Spend a majority of your time filling out local and college-specific scholarships as they are specific to certain students, which means less students are applying for them making it more likely to earn awards.

Placement Testing
College-Bound students may be asked to take a placement test prior to attending their institution.
UW Placement Testing- You’ll need to register for your placement test dates ahead of time. Registration opens in February, and tests take place in spring and summer. If you’re unable to take them during the times offered, contact the campus you plan to attend. Your admissions letter should state who to contact in this situation and list which tests you need to take.
Technical College Placement Testing- ACT scores can determine what courses you are able to take in college. If your scores are not high enough your institution may require you to take the ACCUPLACER. Please contact your college's admissions office to determine if you will need to do any placement testing.
Private College Placement Testing- Wisconsin's 22 private, nonprofit undergraduate colleges and universities are test optional for Fall 2024. To determine whether it is best to submit a score or if you need any further placement testing, get in touch with an admission representative.
