What is Royal ISD CTE Health Science Program?
The Health Science programs is a 4 year program aimed at educating you about the different areas of health care. Whether it is the human body and how it works or medical terminology, this is a course that is hands on and will expand your understanding of health care and possible career pathways.
For students who go through the 4 year Health Science sequence, your senior year will allow you the opportunity of clinical experience in health care settings. You will also have the privilege to earn your EKG Certification and Patient Care Technician Certification.
About me
Hello! My name is Mrs. Pike, and I am so excited to be your students’ Health Science teacher this year. I have been a nurse for over 27 years and earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in many hospital settings, taught nursing at Schreiner University, and later worked in the surgical department at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.
Teaching Health Science is my passion because I love helping students discover the many opportunities in healthcare. I look forward to getting to know each student and supporting them as they learn, grow, and prepare for their future careers.
