One Direction once told us, “if you ever feel alone, don’t, you are never on your own.” Although this sentiment may seem random, it heavily applies to our daily lives. Most if not all people have a partner for life, also known as a twin flame. “A twin flame is your own soul, shared across what appears to be two physical beings. It's one soul split into two bodies,” says Todd Savvas, a spiritual teacher and sage. This doesn’t have to be a romantic relationship and can totally be a platonic friendship; that’s what’s so great about twin flames!
Ruchi and I have heard of these “twin flames” and decided to do a bit of research. Maddie Carlin, a sophomore at Rowland Hall, defined twin flames as “best friends who are very similar and they are important because they understand each other and are able to relate to each other on another level.” However, newer generations have redefined this term to be less spiritual and more literal. More simply, a twin flame is a best friend. Some examples of twin flames in modern pop culture include Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, and Niall Horan and Harry Styles. Here, we have gathered some evidence and research surrounding twin flames and what importance they may have to our daily lives.
Throughout your day, you will probably encounter many challenges, which would be easier to handle if you had someone to rely on. Twin flames can help improve our day-to-day lives by giving us someone to talk to or even someone to help us with our homework. We asked junior Sara Bakhsheshy about how her twin flames enhance her daily life, and she explained that “they really make me laugh and are just a constant joy whenever I see them.” In addition, we asked Jack Vitek, a sophomore, who his twin flame was, and he said his dog, Sierra. Twin flames don’t always have to be human; they can be any living being that you feel a deep, spiritual connection to. Lastly, twin flames have become extremely simplified, so beware, and don’t just randomly call anybody your twin flame because they might not be who you think they are! Make sure you get to know someone really well, and have them become your best friend before you become twin flames.
