Our Mission:
We are a team of professionals dedicated to students with unique needs, requiring specially designed instruction from highly qualified staff in the area of special education. Our mission is to support students, staff, and families by using data to provide effective, evidence-based instruction and services to ensure student growth and successful post secondary transition.
In addition to academic and social/emotional specially designed instruction, we also offer related services that are necessary to implement educational goals and objectives. Related services include:
Speech and Language Therapy
Occupational Therapy
Physical Therapy
Community Work To Transition/employment training
Health Services
Orientation and Mobility
Special Transportation
Highly specialized services provided in Rowan County include Vision Impairment and Hearing Impairment, with a full time VI and full time HI teacher currently on staff. RCSD partners with regional and state agencies, including Kentucky School for the Deaf and Kentucky School for the Blind, to maximize academic and social opportunities to address unique needs.
