Synopsis
Five Survivors Tell the World is a documentary play that incorporates the actual words of five Holocaust survivors who spent most of their lives sharing their testimony to audiences throughout the Philadelphia and south New Jersey region. The production strives to keep the personal histories of Manya Frydman Perel, Rosalie Lebovic Simon, Elizabeth Ehrlich Roth, Itka Frajman Zygmuntowicz, and Rose Ickowicz Rechnic alive, visible, and embodied on stage. This play presents the survivor’s experiences in their own words and pays homage to Holocaust victims; educates audiences; raises moral questions for discussion and reflection; and helps audiences draw a lesson of personal empathy from these historic narratives.
