Having moved to Teesside from London, I was looking to make new friends, do new activities and help out in the local community. I found all of those with the Round Table! I've made great friends, done everything from playing bowls to visiting a nuclear power station, and volunteered at our Duck Race, Santa Sleigh and other community events. It's all here in the Round Table!
Things were going really well. I had a wonderful wife, brilliant children, a good job, but I didn't have much of a social life. Stockton Round Table has given me friends, a sense of adventure and something that is just for "me". Now my life is perfectly balanced and I love it! Jason's the curator of the 2026 'Smithy's Cup' - a run of fantastic social events. Points make prizes!!
Since starting the Stockton-on-Tees Round Table in 2024, I believe we have enhanced the community aspect of our local area by putting on high quality events like the Duck Race at the Tees Barrage White Water Course and the Santa Sleigh, raising thousands for local Charities and bringing enjoyment to those who attend.
The Round Table has provided a place for those who traditionally find it difficult to form relationships and I believe we are all better for it.
If you're interested in joining Table, Matt's the person you'll hear from first. As our membership officer, he'll reach out for a chat (and probably a beer) to find out some more about you and invite you along to our social events.
I moved here from Derby a few years prior to finding round table. Moving so far from friends and family, I was suffering from loneliness and isolation. Table has given me a fantastic group of friends, an amazing community, and so many incredible experiences from our socials and charity work like the duck race and Santa Sleigh. I cannot wait to see what the coming years will bring!
Hi, I’m Bob. I joined SRT after my fiancé saw an online post and decided I was going 😂
It’s been one of the best things I’ve done in years, and becoming Events Officer has been a great experience—especially with the lads supporting (most of!) my crazy ideas.
Dan's never too far away from his next awful dad joke! Teacher by day, tabler by night, he's always on social media showing off how amazing Table is! He's also never shy when there's a microphone around #sleigh2025 #overandoveragain
Hi, I'm Matt. I'm 29 years old, originally from Newcastle and came to live on Teesside some 20 years ago. I work as a chef in a hotel and decided to join Round Table after hearing about it from friends. The idea of meeting new people and having fun while at the same time doing valuable work in the community and raising money for worthy causes really appealed.

I joined Stockton Round Table after moving to the area and struggling to meet new people. I was looking for something that would help me get out more, try new things, and make a few good friends along the way. It’s been a great way to do all of that. getting involved in different activities, helping local charities, having a laugh, and feeling part of a community.
