Student Council oversees all basic club activities. If you do not find the information you are looking for on this website, please send us an email @westwood_studentcouncil@roundrockisd.org! We will be updating this website with new information throughout the school year as club policies and finances are updated.
*IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
-A club must be substantially different from existing clubs, or have a defining characteristic that differs from a similar club. (Example: There exists two health science related clubs, but they focus on different things and have different goals.) -A club must also fulfill a need that exists at Westwood. If you are unsure of any of these factors, please email @westwood_studentcouncil@roundrockisd.org before submitting a club application.
There are no restrictions regarding grade levels. For example, a freshman or senior can apply for a club. The time when a club cannot be formed is if the club already exists at Westwood or is not feasible.
Updated as of 11/21/25.
Steps to make your club application:
Find a sponsor!
Sponsors can only sponsor two clubs/organizations at a time. Never tell a sponsor they don’t have to do anything and be honest with your expectations. They are there to help, guide, and assist you.
Submit the Official Club Application Document in the Google Form designated to receive your applications.
Here is the Official Club Application Document: Official Club Application Document
You must make a copy of this to submit in the google form located here: Westwood Club Applications Google Form 2025-2026
Interview Process.
If your club application is approved, you will be flexed into Student Council to be interviewed for 5 to 10 minutes about the longevity, feasibility, necessity of the club and your passion for it.
Final approval from the administration.
If you pass the interview, the last step will be the student council sending your club application document and your interview scores to Ms. Linz for her to either pass or reject your club.
Reminders:
If you want your club to start in the current school year, it must be submitted by December 1st. If it is submitted after the deadline, it will not be able to start until the following school year.
You can always email us with any questions!
Another resource you can use is the New Club Guidelines. This is from the 2019-2020 school year, but it has a lot of the same information.
If at any point you are rejected, you get one chance for reapplication and then afterwards, you must wait 6 months for reapplication. Updated as of 11/21/25.
**to be updated**
We will link information regarding how to fundraise/spend money, requirements to remain an active club, hosting a homecoming float, and other important information.
There will also be a Club Spring Check-In regarding every club's current status, so please be on the lookout for that. Updated as of 11/21/25.
