Club Applications
Club applications
Steps to make your club application:
Find a sponsor!
Sponsors can only sponsor two clubs/organizations at one time. Never tell a sponsor they don’t have to do anything and be honest with your expectations. They are there to help, guide, and assist you.
Create your club constitution
Make sure you read through the Guidelines for Writing a Constitution. You have a lot of freedom to customize your constitution. That being said you must follow Westwood Club Policy. This policy was set by all the club presidents from the 2023-2024 school year. If you would like to see an example constitution, here is the Westwood Student Council Constitution. If you don’t know what each officer should do, read through the Officer Duties PPT. Once you have your completed Club Application and Constitution email them to westwood_studentcouncil@roundrockisd.org for approval/revisions.

Club Presentation Video or In-Person Presentation
Once your constitution has been approved by the Student Council President, you will get the opportunity to present your club to a panel. You have 5 minutes to present followed by questions from our panel. This panel will consist of approximately 5 student leaders and 2 principals. Your presentation should address three main main points:
Necessity: Why is your club necessary? Is it unlike any other club/organization at Westwood? If there is a similar club, what makes yours different?
Feasibility: What is the program going to look like? Is there a strong plan in place to get it started?
Longevity: How is this club going to continue once you leave Westwood? Is this club aimed towards upperclassmen or all students?
You also need to create a Google form in which you will survey "interest". Have students give their name, grade, and student ID number. You will need to present this to us in order to prove you have real students interested. Additionally, you will need two additional students who are interested in being in the club to attend the meeting. If you are submitting your application virtually, please include all of these components in a video presentation.
Reminders:
If you want your club to start in the current school year, it must be submitted by December 1st. If it is submitted after the deadline, it will not be able to start until the following school year.
You can always email us with any questions!
Another resource you can use is the New Club Guidelines. This is from the 2019-2020 school year, but it has a lot of the same information.
