VIDEOS ABOUT THE WBE SUZUKI VIOLIN PROGRAM
The violin program at Wells Branch Arts Integration Academy is a Suzuki violin program. It is based on an annual lottery system where new parents apply for their students to be randomly selected for participation in the violin program. Instruments are provided to students at no cost. Students attend weekly lessons and have group classes as the schedule permits. Parents attend violin lessons in person or arrangements are made for the parent to see the lesson.
Mrs. Ferguson loves teaching Suzuki Violin and working with students and parents. She started studying the violin at age three in a Suzuki program at Queensborough Community College in New York. She earned her music degree in violin performance from Ithaca College and her masters' degree in music theory from Indiana University Bloomington. As an undergraduate, she had the honor of being the concertmaster of her college's orchestras and during the summers she played in the Disney World All American College Orchestra, toured Europe with the North Carolina School of the Arts Orchestra, and worked at summer music camps as a camp counselor. She teaches violin lessons at her home studio and plays violin in the Mid-Texas Symphony and Temple Symphony Orchestra, among other orchestras.
