My name is Renata Isaac (Leach) and I am the full-time counselor here at WBE. I am so excited for a new school year- a full one to be with you all! I can't wait for this journey together. Before counseling, I taught for 5 years across the state of Texas, mainly in third grade. I am working on finishing up my master's in School Counseling/LPC at Texas State University.
With a range of experiences such as babysitting, teaching, and coaching basketball and swimming, I have developed a deep appreciation for working with children. I am genuinely inspired by their unique personalities and the joy they bring. When I have free time, I love being outdoors and exploring nature through activities such as hiking, running, and walking my dog. My loved ones are also incredibly important to me, and I cherish the time spent with family, friends, and my husband, whom I married in October 2023- Update: You can now call me Mrs. Isaac (pronounced: \e-sock\ )
As a firm believer in lifelong learning, I am eager to establish meaningful connections with students, families, staff, and the community.
As we embark on a new academic year, let's look forward to a wonderful journey of growth and learning together - not just academically, but emotionally as well. Mi nombre es Renata Isaac (Leach) y soy la consejera de tiempo completo aquí en WBE. Estoy muy emocionada por un nuevo año escolar, ¡uno completo para estar con todos ustedes! No puedo esperar para este viaje juntos. Antes de la consejería, enseñé durante 5 años en todo el estado de Texas, principalmente en tercer grado. Estoy trabajando para terminar mi maestría en Consejería Escolar/LPC en la Universidad Estatal de Texas.
Con una variedad de experiencias como cuidar niños, enseñar y entrenar baloncesto y natación, he desarrollado un profundo aprecio por trabajar con niños. Hi!
Allow me to introduce myself as the halftime Counselor at Wells Branch Elementary. My name is Becky Powers, and I'm thrilled to be here.
You can expect to see me on campus every day from 8am-12.
I graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelors of Science degree in Sociology, and from Texas State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English. I completed my graduate work at Texas State University; earning a Masters of Arts degree in Professional Counseling, and a License in Professional Counseling (LPC). I also hold certifications as National Board Certified Counselor and a Certified School Counselor.
I've been with RRISD since 2004, and have spent much of my time at the Secondary level; 10 years as a Language Arts teacher @ Hopewell Middle School, and the last 9 years as a School Counselor @ Stony Point High School. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I also operate a private practice in downtown Round Rock. When I'm not at school, you can find me there.
I've raised two kids - Carly and Abby - in Round Rock, and both graduated from RRHS. Carly graduated last year from Texas Tech University, and Abby will graduate (!) from the University of North Texas in December. As their mama, I'm super proud of who they are as people and how they navigate their world. I'd like to think their experience as RRISD students has been an integral component to their success.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, paddle-boarding, creating, and spending quality time with friends, family, and my cat, Flower. I love to travel, so I try hard to find the time to explore interesting places.
I look forward to a great year; I can't wait to meet each of you!

Permítanme presentarme como el Consejero de medio tiempo en la Primaria Wells Branch. Mi nombre es Becky Powers y estoy encantada de estar aquí.

Como Consejero Profesional Licenciado, también opero una práctica privada en el centro de Round Rock. Cuando no estoy en la escuela, puedes encontrarme allí.
Crié a dos hijos, Carly y Abby, en Round Rock, y ambos se graduaron de RRHS. Carly se graduó el año pasado de la Texas Tech University y Abby se graduará (!) de la University of North Texas en diciembre. Como su mamá, estoy muy orgullosa de quiénes son como personas y de cómo navegan por su mundo.
