Round Rock ISD is a 1-to-1 Chromebook district. Each student will be issued a Chromebook and charger that they will use during the school year for educational purposes. Students are able to keep the same device throughout their educational career, as long as they remain enrolled in a Round Rock ISD school. This not only ensures equity for all students educational goals it also helps ensure that any problems can be solved more readily, and that educational software will work on all student devices. All state testing (STAAR, PSAT, etc.) must be completed on a district Chromebook.
Go Guardian is a Classroom Management System (CMS) used by teachers to present curriculum and make sure their students stay on track and retain productivity. Learn more about Go Gaurdian here.
The Round Rock ISD Technology team manages a web filter in order to support learning enhanced by technology, to keep students safe and to comply with federal law. RRISD utilizes Content Keeper to filter web content on all devices checked out to students as part of the 1:1 Chromebook program. The filter restricts web content on these devices even when being used in students' homes, on district-provided hotspots, or public wifi spots.
Parents, it is your responsibility to supervise your children when using district provided technology at all times. Although internet content filters and other security layers are in place when students are on district property and at home, devices that are checked out and taken home may encounter inappropriate content. You are key to the support for promoting responsible and safe use by setting and communicating expectations, supervising activity and monitoring the safe handling and securing of district property while in the possession of students.

New to RRISD students will receive a Chromebook within 1-3 days after registration. The registration process must be complete in order for their account info needed for a Chromebook to activate. The campus ITS will ensure each new student receives their Chromebook.
Parents and guardians can sign up for Schoology access to see their child’s assignments and grades within Schoology. Schoology grades are not official grades. Official grades can be found in Home Access Center.
You will need your child’s Schoology Access Code. You can request this from any of their teachers. You only need one access code to see all of their courses. If you have connected in a previous year, your account is still linked and you do not need a new code.
Round Rock ISD encourages all students to check out a Chromebook to use throughout the year. However, there are occasions that a student may need to use a device from home on the network. Directions for onboarding.
