UIL Listening Skills

Do at least two practice passages between now and our next meeting. I have audio, practice tests, and answer sheets available; of course, you would be using the honor system as far as not looking at the test before you listen to the audio, and not looking at the answers before you're done with the test.

This is the standard procedure:

1. While listening to the audio take as many notes as possible of what you believe is important information. What do you think would show up on a test? The audio is approximately 7-10 minutes long.

2. When you are done, set a timer for 10 minutes. You may use all of the notes that you took while listening to the audio to help you on the test; however, you only have 10 minutes to answer 25 questions.

3. After you are finished, score your test. Skipped questions do not count against you. Add up all your correct answers and multiply them by x3. Add up all your incorrect answers and multiply them by x2. Add those two answers together and that is your score.

By the way, please stop by my room sometime soon to pick up a permission slip and medical release.
