Extra Credit
Select ONE of any of the Extra Credit Opportunities below in order to earn extra credit. The amount of extra credit earned is determined at teacher discretion.
Opportunity 1: One-Pager

Select three events that have happened in the past month. For each event you must include a summary, explain the impact of the event on our country, and how it will influence you in the future. Responses should be two paragraphs per article. Don’t forget to cite your sources in MLA format. Events should be spaced at least 1 week apart.
Opportunity 3: Research - Influential People
Write a feature article based on research conducted about a person you have found to be influential to you. The person can be from the past or present. The article should answer the questions listed below. Make sure your include a picture with caption, heading and subheadings along with your article.
1. Who is your influential person in history or present day?
2. Why are they considered influential?
3. What was life like before they did what they did? After?
4. What were/are they like as a person? Personal life? Family life?
5. What did society look like when they were alive? Time period?
6. What/who were their influences?
7. How did their accomplishments affect you personally?
8. What are some interesting facts about this person?
9. Where did they do their work?
10. Are there any charts, diagrams, images that graphically depict the impact they had on the world?
