Happy Tuesday!

I really do remember editing this website for our very first week of school. It's really exciting to know how far the students have come, but we know they are more excited about where they are going from here. (To be honest, that's pretty exciting for their teachers, too.)

This week will go quickly; so, here are a few last reminders.

  • If students are missing work, they should work with us today and tomorrow during Advisory or by appointment. (We will be ready to input grades by the end of the day on Thursday.)

  • If your child will go to RRHS, please have him or her fill out the Google Form for the summer reading program. RRHS English teachers are counting on each student to read at least one of those books by the time they arrive in August.

  • Finally, 8th graders will clean out their lockers on Tuesday. They should bring an extra bag if they have a lot of items at school.

Thank you for all you did to support your students throughout the year. It has been our honor to serve as their teachers, and we wish you all a wonderful summer with your soon-to-be high school freshmen.

Hello from Science!

  • Week of 5/16-5/20

  • We will finish up Living Well Aware this week.

  • We will begin out final mini unit of the year. This unit will focus on introducing some Biology vocabulary to students for next year. The vocabulary packet will be due Thursday 5/19 and will be the last graded assignment of this school year. Students will have lots of time in class to work on this assignment.

  • As a reminder, students should have their chromebook charged everyday, have a physical science notebook, a folder or binder to put important science papers in, and a pair of earbuds or headphones for when they need to watch videos. In addition, they need to have a pencil or pen to write with everyday.

  • Reminder: No late work will be accepted after the end of the unit so please make sure any late work is turned in before then and that you fill out the late work submission google form (found on Schoology).

In U.S. History we are done with STAAR. We will be watching Glory for those that have returned the permission slip.

Dinnertime questions:

  1. How do you feel accomplished?

  2. What would make you feel prepared for High School?

Please encourage 20 minutes per night of study. Students should be keeping up with notes, review and studying for posted quizzes. Schoology is the main place to complete assignments. Make sure to see my website for notes, agenda, homework, study tools and more. Students should be accessing this daily. It is also a good idea for students to check home access regularly. Please have students contact me with any questions.
