Welcome to ForthGrade! I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher. I am looking forward to a wonderful year where your child will learn and grow. We will all share many experiences together.

As a teacher, I understand the impact I can have on a child's life, whether it is to spark a child's imagination or to encourage him/her to take a risk. I strive to be a positive influence in my students' lives. I work hard to ensure that each of my students knows that there is nothing he/she cannot accomplish with hard work and tenacity.

I am originally from Hong Kong and moved here when I was in high school.  I graduated from The University of Texas with a BA in Biochemistry, and that makes me a Longhorn through and through! (Hook'em 🤘)  I love working out at Camp Gladiator and trying new restaurants and recipes.  I am married to Dr. Bob Chin, who splits his time between teaching Chemistry at Liberal Arts and Science Academy in AISD and as a biotech grant researcher. Together we have three wonderful children, Samantha, her husband Banks Lin, and Easton. Cara, her husband Spencer, and their daughter Carolyn. And our son, Peter.  Life is full!

This will be my 7th  year teaching, 1st year in 4th grade, 6 year in 3rd grade and 10th year in the district. I am certified in Early Childhood Education - 6th grade all content, 4th-8th grade Math and Science, TAG,  and English as Second Language.    Prior to coming to LME,  I  was the Parents Liaison in various elementary schools and taught Mandarin enrichment at Purple Sage and England Elementary, and worked as the  Children's Ministry Director at Austin Chinese Church (ACC)  for 11 years.  During my time at ACC,  I taught children whose ages range from birth to 5th grade and I worked with parents and held volunteer training.

I am super excited about this school year, where I get to continue to embrace your child's talents, interests, needs, personality, and academic enrichment!  It's going to be awesome! 🥳
