Mrs. Hollenshead and Mr. Fernandez will be visiting classrooms regularly to teach counseling lessons. Lessons topics may include: social and emotional learning, career awareness, kindness, growth and fixed mindset, resiliency, problem solving/conflict resolution, and many more.

In this first lesson, students will learn all about the role of a school counselor. We will be talking about ways school counselors can help students and how students can access Mrs. Hollenshead or Mr.Fernandez if they need someone to talk to during the school day.

In April, all grade level classroom counseling lessons will be over friendships. We will discuss healthy friendships vs unhealthy friendships and what it means to be a good friend. This is in addition to students talking about problem solving and solving conflicts in Second Step. All concepts are scaffolded by grade level.
