We practice every Tuesday and Thursday after school as long as the weather is nice. Everyone is invited to come practice with us.
Only a couple of requirements:
1. No bare feet (a spike through the foot is "Bad")
2. Bring water (puddle water hurts your game)
3. Positive attitude! No foul language, no grumpy attitudes.
Spring League is coming up soon! All are welcome! League will play the (4) Saturdays in April and the 1st Saturday of May!
UPLA is excited to announce the first Austin based U-17 squad, Double Trouble. Our goal to provide the highest level of competition to as many youth players as possible. Our first wave of tryouts will be on December 1st at Rosewood Park from 9am-12pm. While tryouts are not mandatory they are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED. This will be our first look at the new squad.
Any student who will not turn 17 during the year of the USAU Youth Club Championships (2019) is eligible to play. This invitation is also extended all players from neighboring cities interested in trying out for the team.
Anyone looking to get a leg up on the competition is encouraged to join us for open practices. These practices are being held at Rosewood Park and will be on Saturdays from 9a-11a, open to boys and girls.
More info about YCC:
The USAU Youth Club Championships are an opportunity for local players under 20 years of age (high school or younger) to play at the NATIONAL level at a USA Ultimate-sanctioned event. YCC takes place in August in Blaine, Minnesota. The travel required and multi-day nature of the tournament makes it a unique experience of team bonding, competitive ultimate, and spirited play. UPLA has been supporting both girls and boys YCC players since 2016. Players and their families are required to support their travel to the event (though UPLA provides some team and coach funds to make the teams possible).
Players can register here!
Please help spread the word!
We look forward to seeing everyone out on the field! If you have more questions, please email uplayouth@gmail.com.
