My teaching philosophy is to be an effective teacher as I continue to learn and grow in the field of education. It is very important to me to have an inviting and nurturing classroom in order to foster a productive learning environment. Three areas I feel are important to being an effective teacher are creating a positive environment, classroom management, and lesson design.
An effective teacher will promote positivity and set high expectations, but the right expectations for individual and class goals. Setting a positive tone in my class will encourage my students to think with a positive mindset. Motivating students to perform at their highest level with a positive attitude is my ultimate goal as a teacher.
Classroom management plays a crucial role in being an effective teacher. Excellent classroom management allows students to learn at their fullest potential. I believe in taking opportunities to learn new classroom management strategies to promote the best classroom environment for students.
Finally, an effective teacher will design lessons for student mastery. Thinking about how to engage students when designing lessons is crucial for student focus and success. An effective teacher will differentiate lessons for individual academic growth, so students will meet their learning goals and master lessons.
All three elements of an effective teacher must be tied to having the passion to teach. A teacher with passion will strive to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of a student.
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."
Benjamin Franklin
About Me!
Hello and Welcome,
My name is Tiffany Roberts and I would like to let you know a little about myself. My elementary teaching degree is from the University of North Alabama. My experience with teaching has been with K-12 while substitute teaching, 1st-5th assisting with intervention, assisting in Pre-K and my own classes of PreK, first, second, and fifth grade.
I have moved around most of my life as my father was in the military as well as my husband. We moved to Texas after my husband received employment at Samsung, which also brought us closer to where our families live. My son graduated from Round Rock High School in 2020 and is now serving in the United States Coast Guard. My daughter also graduated from Round Rock High School in 2023.
When I'm not teaching I enjoy reading, writing, playing the piano/guitar, or anything that has to do with art. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with my family. My goal in life is to always continue to learn and try new things.
I am very blessed to be part of Double File Trail Elementary School. During my time at DFT I have learned how special the staff and administration truly are. The students are the most special part of DFT! The parents, staff, and administration all support our students' needs and we have successfully built a great and special school community together.
